To have a Valentine's Day on a Saturday, you'll always experience Friday the 13th first. So is it worth it?
Just like pleasing a girl on Valentine's Day you'll have to spend truckloads of moolahs! Is it worth it?
In the past (before I was with Bf), I always yearn to have someone to spend with during festive seasons including V-day. I guess its not so nice spending festive seasons alone. No doubt you can spend it with the ladies or the gents for that matter, but the feeling is different.
But now after being with Bf for a couple of years (5 to be exact!), V-day still feels important because its our anniversary as well. But I don't expect us to celebrate anymore. Probabaly the most would be an exchange of gift. We will not go out and eat because all the restaurants are being over-priced.
Ah, flowers! Bad experience with flowers! Bf is not the traditional-romantic-type of guy. Flowers have to be requested if I want to receive them. So sometime ago (prolly 3yrs ago when he is still in NS), I asked for flowers.
He gave me flowers as requested. Very very elated I was! I planned to dry it and frame it. But when it was dried, I open the bouquet and realised the stalk has got mould in it. Refused to give up so easily I cleaned and sun it.
Finally when its cleaned, I tried putting into the frame I bought from Ikea. Hahaha, guess what? The petals fell off! -.-
Boo, there goes my 1st bouquet of flowers from Bf. Threw it away in the end!
The following year, I requested for flowers again. And he gave it to me.
The same thing happened! I can't believe it. Spent hundreds of dollars on something that last for prolly 2-3 weeks. And off it goes into the bin.
Now aged 24, I am smarter. I don't ask for flowers anymore. I even ask Bf not to get it.
Don't get me wrong, I still heart flowers! Which girl don't? They are lying if they say they don't like it, alright prolly if they have allergic or something. But flowers are so pretty! And I still yearn for it.
But flowers are definitely over-over-priced during V-day! So its definitely not not not not worth it. As my b-day is near V-day, I dun get flowers during my b-day as well. -.- Boo.
